I agree that we should let Moreno go if it gives the Timbers more money to work with. He's very good, but he's obviously not completely happy here. But Mosquera? Like Timothy, I don't get the point of scouting for exciting, driven, talented players only to sell their contracts (sorry, I can't bring myself to talk of selling human beings, even though I know it's just a phrase) *because* they're exciting, driven, and talented. I've been waiting for this kind of fullback to join the team since Jorge Moreira went back to Paraguay — the kind where you know that if they capture the ball in the back, they just might carry it all the way to goal.

I agree too RE MorenoI. It's not a good look on the socials, but if he is producing on the field, then it's whatever. He is kind of the wild card out there for defenses. He can slip through the tightest of spaces and then he's in and can create some havoc. I hope he keeps his focus in the right direction as we head down this final stretch.

God I hope you're right on Evander. I'd love to watch him in the Green and Gold for the next decade.

He's the greatest! I can't imagine he'd stick around even for a big pot of money. Stuffing stats in the MLS won't get him to where he wants to go; and I think the Brazilian team could use him. I'd love for him to stay but that just isn't happening. The question is when and where and for how much. A deep run, an MLS MVP could be his swan song and exit by winter or summer next for a Brazilian team or Europe, I would imagine. If the price is right. If it's not, then worse case scenario is a disgruntled Evander in his final season in Portland. I hope it works out right for all parties.

One of my major concerns is that we brought in Kamal Miller, who isn’t fast enough to play the style we are trying to implement. With the possible exception of Surman, about whom I know nothing, none of our other CBs are either.

That exacerbates the problems with Mosquera not tracking back, our midfield roster and rotations not being dialed in, our press bring inconsistent, and Bravo being forced to stay home.

I’d like to feel confident about the direction our back line is headed.

If we don’t move Paredes and/or Williamson and go big on an 8 that’s as good as both of them combined, we really need to make changes elsewhere. Both of them are good to great in another system and/or with better pieces around them.

I’m pleasantly surprised to hear about Ikobe and Sulte. I don’t share your optimism but would love it if they have a future with us.

Agreed on selling Moreno. Less so Mosquera. Both with the caveat that we need good replacements immediately. We can’t develop players until they’re good enough to sell without having derived any non-financial benefit from their development. They haven’t helped is win a trophy yet. We can’t be a team that’s perpetually in development. At some point, we need an entire XI of complete players. Give me at least a season with a roster that isn’t too young or too old, who are all reliable professionals.

It will be sad to see Loría go but you’re not wrong. It seems like there are one or two T2 players who might take his place. I’d like to have one more reliable and versatile wide attacking option at least.

And this is why I suck at Football Manager. I get too attached to my digital footballers and can't contemplate selling them.

When it comes to real life I have the same problem. Though given Santi's attitude I may have less problem saying goodbye to him.

I cannot fathom selling Mosquera though. He brings us so much and I don't see a current replacement for him.
