I surely hope Ayala is ok. He needs to start. The battle in the midfield will be the area that is definitely up for grabs and it will be interesting to see which side wins. Ayala has been key to keep possession and Chara can be counted on to rise up. Both teams will get chances, and who will be more clinical? This is very even, with both teams in form, and surprisingly, RSL an excellent road team, so they won't be phased coming in to a hot inferno of a revved up Providence Park. That should be an advantage for the boys in green, tho. I also hope Antony is ok. We need some firepower coming off the bench. It's truly unfortunate to see some injuries coming in because they will impact the ability to get a result, such as E Miller out, too. That is also unfortunate, and I hope it is not a factor. We really need the win.
I was thrilled to hear Crepau and K. Miller are still in international duty.
What's the word on Zac? Did he earn his spot back only to lose it due to injury? Or was there no chance he'd actually earned his spot back?
What are the chances of Pantemis staying at number one when Crepau returns? I'm guessing not great so then the question is, his long will Crepau's runway be to start putting in good performances after he returns?
Great question about Crepeau. It would be tough to pull Pantemis based on the results he’s had. Also Araujo is the guy for this game to lock down arango.
Thanks for the response. I definitely view Zac v. Araujo, through Zac colored glasses. I hope your are correct about Araujo being able to lock down Arango.
Hold on, both of y'all - No CB is gonna lock down Chicho Arango 1v1.
"Holding down" Arango is gonna be a LOT more about our midfield preventing all those balls over the top, every match, that Arango has been finding on the dead run.
I really liked the tiers of rivalry. I think that was spot on.
Any statement - good or bad - is likely to come directly from who wins midfield.
Both teams WANT to be attacking, on a short field, away from their backlines as much as possible.
There also will be NO room for relaxation either way, if an early goal is scored...
